RCF SUB 15-AX

The SUB 15-AX is a portable active 15-inch subwoofer with high performance for live audio applications with internal DSP processing, color touch panel and Bluetooth® remote control. The high-performance transducer, combined with the powerful Class D amplifier, provides sound pressure levels up to 133 dB with exceptional headroom. Designed for medium-sized rooms and live applications. The SUB 15-AX is the ideal complement for loudspeakers with 10- or 12-inch woofers: the loudspeakers are managed centrally in the subwoofer, with dual crossovers, 8-band equalizers, routing, delay configurations for cardioid setups and retrievable crossover presets. The robust wooden enclosure with scratch-resistant polyurea coating makes it durable, easy to transport and install.

Tour-ready

RCF cabinets are constructed from high-quality plywood and protected with a tough black (or white) polyurea finish. They are lightweight and stackable, have ergonomic handles with rubber inserts and are designed for easy assembly and disassembly. The M20 stand thread insert at the top of the cabinet supports RCF speakers of various sizes. Inside the powder-coated front grille, a special sound-permeable foam lining protects the transducers from dust. The SUB AX series subwoofers are built to last and equipped with waterproof powerCON® TRUE1 TOP mains connections, so you can be sure that they will withstand the rigors of use and transport.

The industry-leading subwoofers

Lightweight and powerful, RCF woofers set the standard for peak performance. RCF Precision electroacoustic engineers have developed scaled-down magnets and specialized profiles to optimize magnetic flux while keeping weight down. The magnetic circuit topology is able to deliver the highest and most balanced level of performance in three specific areas: maintaining a consistent and highly integrated magnetic flux gap, exceptionally low distortion and efficient integration of the magnetic circuit into a design with minimal weight. The T-pole design is optimized to produce minimal flux modulation in the magnetic field during the typical movement of the voice coil within the air gap.

All the energy of the bass

With 2200 watts of power, the integrated Class D amplifier is capable of delivering extreme sound pressure levels, with ultra-fast transient response and very low heat emission. The low-distortion stereo input circuitry is equipped with an advanced protection limiter that preserves the character of the signal at any level. The RCF amplifiers are designed for maximum safety according to EN62368-1 and feature a switch-mode power supply section that combines high efficiency with low weight.

Bass Motion Control

In the search for improved low-frequency performance, RCF engineers have removed the high-pass filter and replaced it with a novel approach. BMC (Bass Motion Control) is an innovative solution for controlling woofer excursion. The BMC-equipped speaker is able to handle the lowest audible frequencies without compromising transducer stability, thus providing extended linearity and better sound integrity.

The BMC method takes a complete map of the woofer's dynamic behavior to generate a custom algorithm that limits only over-excursion, thereby giving the transducer complete freedom to reproduce the signal. High-pass filters normally protect the woofer from potentially destructive movements, but they alter its phase behavior. The new BMC algorithm breaks with this rule.
