The UA Bock 187 is David Bock's inspired reimagining of the legendary U87 microphones, which he studied and maintained for two decades as the engineer in charge of engineering at the world's top recording studios. Hand-built in the UA Custom Shop in Santa Cruz, California, the UA Bock 187 microphone offers an iconic sound that has always been present in recording studios around the world.

Classic sounds with modern flexibility

Vintage U87 microphones are known for their presence, but they can become jarring when pushed. Our UA Bock 187 enhances the classic design with a larger transformer, more refined circuitry, and a unique fat mode, which offers a boost between 10 Hz and 400 Hz. This results in greater dynamic range, presence and fullness on vocals, guitars and other sources.
