sE8 is a high-quality condenser microphone intended for a wide range of studio and live applications.

With its hand-assembled custom 0.5 (narrow diaphragm) capsule and transformerless output, sE8 offers crystal-clear sound quality and a smooth, well-balanced frequency response, making this transducer perfect for many applications, from acoustic guitar to piano to drums.

Carefully chosen electronics with ultra-low noise components, together with the attenuation pad, enable the microphone to best withstand even high sound pressure levels (SPLs) for a truly high dynamic range.

The two-position low cut filter helps eliminate unwanted noise such as footsteps and can also compensate for excess low frequencies caused by the proximity effect.

In this way, sE8 also becomes excellent in close-range shooting applications of acoustic instruments and other sources such as electric guitar cabinets, brass, and drums.

The sturdy metal body and high construction standards make it reliable even on the road, on stages, and under all conditions of use.

sE8 features a double PAD switch for attenuation and double low cut filter.

The switch for attenuation is located at the top on the back of the microphone body.

When activated, the input signal is attenuated by 10 or 20 dB so that sources with high sound pressure or at a very close distance can be imaged without distortion.

Using the switch also reduces the possibility of saturating the input stages of audio interfaces, mixers, and mic preamps.

The Low-Cut Switch is located on the front right side of the microphone and inserts a high-pass filter at 80Hz or 160Hz.In the middle position the filter is inactive, for a linear frequency response.Wind blowing, plosive consonants, noises due to footsteps can spoil the signal to be recorded: activating the high-pass filter (low cut filter) reduces this type of noise and avoids unwanted distortion.In addition, the low cut filter is also useful for minimizing the proximity effect when placing the microphone very close to the source.sE8 is also available as a selected stereo pair: also included is the special 'stereo mounting bar' for safe and precise positioning, two mic clips, two wind screens, and a sturdy flight case.
