The Genelec 7270A Active Subwoofer with DSP changes the rules of room correction by raising it to new standards of accuracy and flexibility. This precision system, indicated for low-frequency monitoring, is designed for both modern 6.1 or 5.1 multichannel systems and stereophonic listening systems.
With an extended frequency response as early as 19 Hz, high sound pressure output and versatile digital bass management system, 7270A is suitable for all situations where the low range needs to be monitored with precision and detail. The amplifier unit is integrated into the cabinet and consists of the DSP-based active crossover filter, driver overload protection circuit and power amplifier. The built-in bass management system supports 8 digital input and output channels in AES/EBU format (4 XLR connectors). The crossover for the main channels has the cutoff frequency adjustable between 50 and 100 Hz. The input for the LFE channel (input 4) has a low-pass filter adjustable between 50 and 120 Hz and a sensitivity selector switch adjustable to 0/+10 dB.
The GLM (Genelec Loudspeaker Manager) network control software (GLM) enhances the 7270A's performance even more: it allows adjustment of levels, delay times, phase and equalization to improve response in the listening environment, thanks to the sophisticated but intuitive AutoCal automatic calibration system. The chassis incorporates the LSE Genelec bass reflex system (Laminar Spiral Enclosure) constructed from a single sheet of spiral-folded metal, held together by MDF side panels. Thanks to this revolutionary construction technique, it is possible to have a large port even in a small cabinet, benefiting from excellent laminar airflow, immune as much as possible from turbulence noise.
