Allen & Heath Xone:24C

The Allen & Heath Xone:24C is a compact 2-channel + 1 Mic/Line DJ mixer that combines analog sound quality with flexible digital connectivity. A direct evolution of the all-analog Xone:24 model, it adds a 24-bit/96kHz 6 In/6 Out USB-C audio interface and a powered USB-C HUB to give you a perfect hybrid solution that integrates DVS (control from Time Code vinyls), streaming and recording. Xone:24C packs all the essential tools and sonic character of high-end Xone mixers into a compact and affordable format, including the Xone:VCF filter, quality phono preamps, 3-band EQ Isolator, innoFADER mini crossfader, and a Master Loop FX for connecting external signal processors and FX.

The Xone:24C inherits the sound philosophy of Allen & Heath's high-end mixers, offering a fully analog audio path designed for transparency, warmth, and punch. Low-noise RIAA preamps ensure detailed reproduction of your vinyl records, while Phono/Line input alignment allows you to switch between turntables and media players while maintaining the correct gain balance. The 3-band isolator EQ allows for precise and creative interventions, from Total Kill bass to smooth and musical transitions. The carefully calibrated analog summing ensures depth and balance across the entire frequency range, delivering a full, defined, professional-quality sound.

Hybrid workflow, with the simplicity of analog

Designed for modern DJs using mixed configurations, the Allen & Heath Xone:24C mixer simplifies audio workflow management with its 96kHz/24-bit USB‑C audio interface with 6 inputs and 6 outputs. Class-compliant compatibility makes it universally usable in Mac, Windows (ASIO drivers required for Pro software), and iOS environments. There are three operating modes for the audio interface: Streaming for high-quality online performances, DVS Pro for control from timecode vinyl, and DAW for recording or music production. The two powered USB-C ports allow the integration of MIDI controllers or other class-compliant peripherals, transforming the Xone:24C into a true central hub for your setup. Each USB‑C port provides up to 7.5W of power, enough to power external controllers such as the Xone:K3 (click here for info) or mobile devices, simplifying portable setups without the need for additional power supplies.

The mixer's main controls, including faders, crossfaders, filter, and cue buttons, transmit MIDI control messages for seamless integration with DAW software and DJ and VJ performance software.

Each channel/input has dedicated USB Source selectors (PHONO or LINE) that optimize the signal level sent to the interface, ensuring the correct gain staging for each type of source. In DAW mode, the channels transmit post-EQ but pre-fader signals, allowing you to record clean stems ready for reworking with automation and digital mixing. Fader and crossfader movements are also transmitted as MIDI Control Change messages, allowing you to record real-time automation directly within your software.

The XONE analog sound!

The heart of the Xone:24C is based on an entirely analog signal path, designed to deliver the character and musicality that have made the Xone series famous among professional DJs, clubs, and major festivals. The frequency response from 20Hz to 30kHz (±0.5dB), extremely low harmonic distortion (0.01% @1kHz) and a significant headroom of +18dB ensure a wide, dynamic sound that is faithful to the source. The balanced output design and channel separation ensure a clean stereo image and linear response even when operating at high levels. Allen & Heath recommends working with meters around 0dB average, with peaks between +6 and +9dB, maintaining sufficient headroom to ensure the best signal-to-noise ratio and preserve the dynamic quality of the sound.

The legendary XONE VCF filter

The Xone 24C mixer incorporates the iconic Xone:VCF (Voltage Controlled Filter), a distinctive feature of the series. With Low-Pass and High-Pass modes, continuous frequency sweep, and mild-to-wild resonance control, the filter allows you to sculpt the sound dynamically and musically. Transitions between states are ‘soft switched’ to ensure smooth, click-free changes even during live performances.

Built for performance

Every element of the mixer has been designed for reliability and immediate control. The mini innoFADER® crossfader offers smooth and precise response, with selectable curves to suit every mixing style, from smooth blending to fast scratching. Backlit buttons, RGB meters, and tri-color LEDs provide clear visual feedback even in dark environments. Latching and non-latching CUE modes, along with Split CUE control, ensure flexible monitoring management during mixing to suit the user's needs and habits. 

Integration of external effects and processors

The Master Insert FX loop allows the integration of external effects, pedals, or dynamic processors via RCA send/return connections.
