SE's new Voodoo Ribbons mark a new era in ribbon microphone technology-until now, the only ribbon microphone in the world that could boast a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz was the sE RNR1, the result of a collaboration with Rupert Neve, and universally recognized as the world's best ribbon microphone. This kind of performance could be achieved through the use of state-of-the-art transformers and a Rupert Neve-designed circuit shielding that allows transduction of the high frequencies normally absent in a microphone.The Voodoo series microphones, however, gain full frequency response thanks to a new mechanical device designed by Siwei Zou.
