Solid State Logic UMD192 is a powerful portable USB audio interface designed to meet the needs of the most demanding professional settings: live sound, broadcast, and professional studios. With full integration of MADI, Dante and USB protocols, UMD192 offers flexible routing, high channel count and uncompromising performance for recording, playback and format conversion. SSL UMD192 can handle 192 channels at 96 and 48 kHz or 128 channels at 192 kHz, all in a compact and portable half-rack unit format. Designed for maximum versatility, UMD192 supports bidirectional audio between any pair of formats-MADI, Dante or USB-allowing the third format to receive a split signal. This makes it ideal for connecting multiple MADI devices to a Dante network, or for high channel count recording and playback via USB 3.0. On the networking front, UMD192 offers fully interoperable Dante AoIP, with AES67 and ST 2110 support (with DDM) and ultra-low Dante latency down to 0.25 ms. Clock options are flexible, selectable from MADI or Dante, with sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz. With six MADI pairs on BNC, UMD192 can also be configured in redundant mode, allowing three dual-redundant MADI connections, critical for critical broadcast and live applications. Although UMD192 is a natural choice for live sound, its flexibility makes it extremely effective in many other professional contexts as well. From broadcast music recording/mixing-especially in conjunction with SSL System T-to high channel count studio sessions, UMD192 provides smooth integration and reliable performance. UMD192 is also an ideal interface for Harrison 32Classic systems with Dante, and is perfect for SSL Oracle or ORIGIN installations with Dante or MADI converters. At the same time, UMD192 is also a powerful solution for non-SSL console users in live, broadcast, studio, and post-production environments. UMD192's front panel offers clear, high-visibility indicators with real-time feedback on signal flow, sample rate synchronization, power status, and network connectivity, so you always have total control even in the most critical situations. UMD192 supports multiple power sources - AC, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and USB - offering great flexibility and the ability to build redundant systems. Each source can be used individually - in addition - PoE can be combined with an external power supply to provide power redundancy. UMD192 is a class-compliant digital audio interface that operates natively with macOS Core Audio, without the need for additional drivers. Just plug it in, select SSL as your audio device in System Settings, and get started right away. On Windows systems, UMD192 requires the SSL ASIO driver, available from the Solid State Logic support portal.
